Liz’s personal and professional background is well suited for the Travel & Tourism Industry. Starting at the young age of 15, she has travelled to many places around the region and the world, enjoying diverse cultural and active experiences. She brings a special passion to the industry borne of experience and a desire to see Tourism act as a driver for environmental protection, poverty alleviation and the protection of threatened cultures.
Her 20+ years of business experience, connections, marketing insight, environmental projects, vision and passion for leisure and educational travel have prepared her well to serve and lead as the Managing Director of Eco Adventures Ltd.
Early in her career, on graduating in Travel & Tourism Management at Utalii College , Liz worked for 11 Years in 3 of the leading world-wide travel companies, gaining immense knowledge and experience and rising through the ranks. After a 3 year stint in Marketing and Product Development for a major local Safaris, Hotels & Lodges Company , she moved into a management position to develop and spearhead the company’s international marketing and vision.
In lines with her career growth and personal goals, Liz began to hatch the idea of forming Eco Adventures Ltd in 1998, and it all came together for her in February 2002.
Armed wither experience and sound knowledge of the key aspects of Tourism Management & Marketing, Community development, Product & Program development – she was off to a good start. 3 Years later in 2005 Eco Adventures was a recognized brand locally and internationally for exemplary service delivery!
Under her leadership as Managing Director, Eco Adventures has grown and qualified for coveted membership in the largest international, regional and local professional associations. She engages actively in these associations in helping propel industry initiatives forward.
Liz is passionate about community Interaction and involvement in tourism. She has over the years, successfully participated in successful joint community tourism initiatives and projects. She attends goal specific tourism events annually, and engages in initiatives to help drive the tourism industry towards a more responsible future. Liz is committed to non-profit endeavors, and volunteers for 3 humanitarian charities. Liz lives in Nairobi, Kenya which is also her birth place and home country!
